My Table community rules

Who can participate

My Table is for people 18 or older. By accepting this agreement, you confirm that you are 18 or older and agree to follow these rules before sending a message.

Keep the room private and respectful

Use your pseudonym and speak to current members with care. Do not threaten, harass, hate, impersonate, spam, or share another person’s information. Do not share an exact address, live location, phone number, email address, financial information, legal name, or private contact details.

Do not send sexual content, seek or offer illegal activity, or ask someone to meet at a private home or other private location. If members choose to meet, keep plans public, optional, and within the app’s public-place intentions.

Service badges aren't active yet

Verification (the Veteran, EMS/Paramedic, Firefighter, or Law Enforcement badge) is still under construction. No one currently has a verified badge, and nothing today stops a member from claiming a role they don't have. Until this is live, take what any member tells you about their service with a grain of salt. Use the same judgment you would with anyone you meet online.

Not emergency or crisis support

Same Ground does not provide emergency response, crisis counseling, professional care, or real-time monitoring. For immediate danger, call or text 911. For emotional crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.

Report and block

You can report a message for harassment, safety, spam, or another concern. Reporting immediately blocks that member’s messages and room presence for you. You may also block a current member without filing a report.

Reporting a message in My Table lets a reviewer read that message and the ones around it, including what other people in the room said, and what you said. That is deliberate: a label like "harassment" cannot tell a reviewer the difference between someone being cruel and someone having their feelings hurt, and getting that wrong in either direction hurts a real person. Only the conversation around what you reported opens; the rest of the room does not, and a room nobody reports is never read. Every time a reviewer opens one, it is recorded against them. Reported Community posts are always visible to a reviewer, because they were already posted to the whole group.

Reviewers can mark a report reviewed, remove the reported message, or remove a member from the room. Same Ground does not promise a response time or 24/7 moderation.

Threats have automatic consequences

Dark humor about your own week is part of this community and is not what this rule is for. A direct threat aimed at a member is different, and the difference is enforced: a message that makes a direct, unconditional threat toward a member removes you from that table immediately and places your account on probation: no new tables, invitations, or Community groups for 90 days. Three violations permanently end your ability to interact with other members. Crisis resources and the resource directory always remain available to you.

Borderline messages are never punished automatically: they act only if a member of your own room reports them as a safety concern. A person reviews every removal, and every removal can be appealed: email the safety team at safety@sameground.net. Deliberately false reporting is itself a violation.

If a message sounds like crisis

If something you write sounds like you may be in crisis, the app will ask you directly and show confidential, peer-staffed support lines. That is support, never punishment. Crisis language is never grounds for removal. Nothing you share is reported to employers, commands, or authorities, and nothing affects your record, your career, or your weapons rights. If you ask for a check-in, a Same Ground safety contact follows up privately; that request is used only for the check-in and is deleted with the room within 30 days.

Temporary rooms and data

Only current members can see a shared-seat room. A room becomes read-only when its table closes. Room messages and the associated minimized report metadata are permanently deleted 30 days after the room closes. Same Ground never asks members for a legal name, government ID, or any documentation, and never sells member information. See the Privacy Notice for the broader account and data practices.
