United States · Veterans & first responders

Find support without proving your story first.

Same Ground helps veterans, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and law-enforcement personnel across the United States, along with the families who stand with them, discover reviewed resources and support. Browse everything before you tell us anything.

If you are in immediate danger, call or text 911. Same Ground is not an emergency service.

Support pathways

Start where you are.

Every pathway leads to organizations in the reviewed nationwide directory, which includes state-specific resources for all 50 states, Washington, DC, and five U.S. territories, plus national and federal resources. County and community coverage varies and continues to grow. Take what's useful; leave the rest.

Reviewed for currency in July and August 2026. Same Ground points you to each organization directly. It never asks them to prove eligibility on your behalf.

How Same Ground helps

Three unhurried steps.

Tell us what you need

Pick a pathway or search plainly: “counseling,” “rent help,” “someone to talk to.” Optional, and it stays on your device.

Explore nearby & national resources

Browse reviewed organizations for veterans and first responders: hours, who they serve, and how to reach them.

Take the next step at your pace

Call, visit a website, or save something for later. Reach out when you're ready. There's no clock and no judgment.

Trust & privacy

Built for people who have every reason to be careful.

Same Ground was made with the veteran and first-responder communities in mind, where privacy isn't a preference but a necessity.

Read our privacy approach

Browse before you share

You don't need a legal name, documents, or a location to explore resources. There's nothing to sign up for on this site. If you do create a private account in the app, it's only ever a pseudonym and an email (never your legal name, a government ID, or any documentation), and nothing is ever sold.

Reaching out isn't tracked here

When you call a line or open an organization's website, you're going straight to them. This site doesn't keep a log of it.

Verification is optional, never a gate

In the app, confirming your service is your choice. It can open peer-only spaces, but it's never required to find help. It's also still under construction: no badges are active yet, so use your own judgment with what members tell you about their service in the meantime.

In testing now

The Same Ground app is on the way.

A private, pocket-sized companion: the full directory, a low-pressure check-in, saved resources, and moderated peer community, with crisis lines always one tap away and working offline.

On Android? You can help test it now.

Google needs a small group to use the app for two weeks before it can reach the Play Store. Testers install it from the Play Store like any other app and get the real thing, rough edges and all: the full directory, saved resources, and the crisis lines.
